The Nigerian Air Force, NAF, will take delivery of twenty four M-346 fighter jets before the end of 2024, to add to it’s fleet.
This it says is in a move that aims to improve the airforce’s ongoing efforts to modernize its fleet as well as bolster its operations’.

In a statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information of the Nigerian Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, Vice President of Messrs Leonardo, manufacturers of the M-346 aircrafts, Claudio Sabatino assured the Chief of Air Staff, Air Mashal Hasan Abubakar, when he paid a visit to the Nigerian Air Force Headquarters.

Sabatino also said his Company is commited to the timely delivery of the M-346 fighter aircrafts, beginning with the first batch of 6 expected in Nigeria before the end of 2024.
He said when finally completed, the maintenance of the aircraft fleet would not constitute a challenge as there is a binding agreement for Leonardo’s maintenance support for the minimum of 25 years.
He also noted that the manufacturing of the aircraft fleet has reached an appreciable stage.
The Chief of Air staff, Air Marshal Abubakar also acknowledged the effectiveness of the partnership and expressed optimism for the future trajectory of the partnership.
