The Nigerian Army troops in Katsina State, Northwest of the country have reportedly have killed a notorious terrorist leader simply identified as Maikusa, who security sources claim is the second-in-command in the hierarchy of the terrorists’ cell in Katsina areas, led by the infamous terrorist, Modi Modi.

A Statement on Tuesday by the Army spokesperson, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu said the troops gunned down Maikusa and three other terrorists in a shootout on Monday, 4th March 2024 during a counter insurgency operation in Kurfi and Safana Local Government Areas of Katsina State.

The Army explained that the operation also resulted in the successful clearance of terrorists’ enclaves in those areas.

The Statement added that during the operations, troops encountered vehement resistance from the violent extremists, but overpowered the terrorists with superior firepower that killed some, while others fled in disarray.
