Nigeria has recorded her biggest win in international football with a 10-0 victory over Sao Tome and Principe in Morocco.
The Super Eagles showing determination and purpose from the blast of the referee’s whistle opened scoring in the 10th minute through Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen finished the encounter with three more goals to complete his first double brace for Nigeria. He has become the leading scorer in the qualifiers with a total of 5 goals so far.
Terem Moffi also helped himself to two goals while the trio of Moses Simon, Ademola Looman and substitute Emmanuel Dennis scored one each to complete the 10-0 demolition job on Sao Tome and Principe.
The away triumph in Agidir, Morocco is the biggest victory for Nigeria since the then Red Devils, as the national team was nicknamed, defeated Dahomey now Benin Republic 10-1 in the Kwame Nkrumah cup in 1959 in Lagos.
With the victory, Nigeria’s Super Eagles who beat Sierra Leone 2-1 in Abuja, Thursday, now boasts of 100 percent record with two wins from two so far, and move top of Group A of the qualifiers for 2023 AFCON to be staged in Cote D’Ivoire.
