The Nigerian Government in collaboration with the People’s Republic of China has inaugurated the Contemporary World Nigeria Magazine to develop the Africa-Based policies and practical solutions to tackling insecurity in West Africa.
Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, said during a meeting in Abuja on Friday that contents of the magazine will entail a different, practical and indigenous way in finding solutions to the challenges of insecurity and terrorism confronting Nigeria and Africa.

The Nigerian Foreign Affairs minister told the gathering that the launch of the magazine provides a veritable opportunity to introduce Nigeria’s academic dimension to Chinese researchers to facilitate mutual contributions in the search for peace and security.
The Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, CUI JIANCHUN, said the publication, the first of its kind in Africa, was initiated to enhance study among Nigerian and African researchers and enable them to analyze their challenges and proffer practical solutions.
The Director-general, IPCR, Bakut Bakut, said Nigeria was delighted to have beaten five other countries to win the publication rights of the Chinese Contemporary World Magazine which is aimed at ensuring sustainable peace and security on the continent.
The publication which is 100 per cent funded by the Chinese government aims at bringing scholars, intellectuals, researchers and policy makers together with a view to developing policies that will enable the two countries to tackle current and emerging challenges.
