The Nigeria Custom Service says it is deploying sophisticated technology to detect and prevent smuggling along the country’s borders.
Deputy Comptroller General in charge of Training and Doctrine Command was speaking at the opening ceremony of a capacity building workshop organised for business personalities to keep them updated on emerging customs procedures.
The training which brings businessmen and women together, aims at keeping the brokers abreast with the best procedures, honest and transparent ways of declaring their goods for effective trade facilitation.

Represented by Assistant Comptroller General of Customs, Malanta Yusuf, the Deputy Comptroller in charge of training says, the Customs Service is doing everything to prevent smuggling activities with the use of technology.
The Kano-Jigawa Zonal Comptroller, Dauda Chana notes that, building the capacity of its stakeholders has great multiplier effects on the country’s revenue drive.
At the end of this session, brokers would have had a broader knowledge of contemporary issues as it affects declaration, which will be beneficial to the brokers and the Nigeria government.
