Nigeria draw Cote D’Ivore in their WAFU B tournament opener

The 10-man Nigeria’s flying eagles have played a one-all draw with Cote
d’ivore in their opening group b game of the WAFU B u-20 nations cup.
Christopher Nwaeze rose above all others to put Ladan Bosso’s side ahead on
the hour mark.
Hero soon became Villian as the goal scorer, Nwaeze was sent off 15 minutes
later .

The extra man advantage proved decisive as Cote d’Ivoire leveled score just
before the regulation period.
Nigeria will require a win in their second group b match against the black
satellites of Ghana on Wednesday to stand a chance of progressing to the Africa
u-20 Nations cup, Mauritania 2021 next year.
In group a Niger stunned hosts Benin republic to win by a lone goal on Saturday
while Togo and Burkina Faso shared the spoils with their encounter ending with
a goal for either side.
