The Leadership of the Nigerian Union Of Teachers has agreed to return to the classroom as soon as possible after a meeting with the Minister of the federal capital territory over the rising insecurity in schools and unpaid arrears and promotion benefits for teachers.
The Teachers had embarked on a five days warning strike to intensify their demands but were immediately called to a dialogue by the minister of the federal capital territory and other officials of the administration.

Chairman of the Nigerian Union Of Teachers Stephen Knabayi said with the assurances from the FCT Minister, teachers will go back to classes without further delay.
The teachers are demanding improved security across schools in the federal capital territory and the payment of outstanding arrears and promotion benefits for teachers between 2016 and 2018.
