As a bold action to limit the impacts of Climate Change, Nigeria at the 2021 UN Climate Change Conference (COP26), committed to achieving Net-Zero Carbon Emission by 2060 and subsequently set up an Energy Transition Plan ETP to move away from fossil fuels to alternative Renewable Energy sources.
Key players at the forum say Public-Private collaboration is required in executing the Energy Transition Strategy and bolstering Carbon Market to drive socio-economic advancement.
Nigeria’s Net-Zero pathway is expected to create up to 800 jobs by 2060 driven mainly by the Power, Cooking and Transport sectors.
