Former Ethiopian Prime Minister and Board Chairman of Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa, AGRA, Hailemariam Dessalegn-Boshe, has called on the Nigerian Government to improve on its budgetary allocation to the Agriculture sector for the attainment of Agenda 2030.
Speaking at a meeting with the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed in Abuja, Dessalegn-Boshe who outlined AGRA’s plan for 2022-2030, says the double-digit growth for Nigeria is achievable, but can not be done without the inclusion of Agriculture.
He noted the priority areas for AGRA as inclusive Agriculture, trying to bring more resources into the Agricultural sector in Nigeria, particularly attracting private sector investment and making Agriculture attractive for youths involvement.

For the Minister, the country is working towards ensuring zero post-harvest losses, establishment of processing centres and fertilizer blending plants.
She urged the former Ethiopian Prime Minister to bring to fore the expertise of AGRA to enhance the production of food in the country for attainment of the Agenda 2030.
Ahmed assured that Nigeria is working towards improving its commodity market to attain a great height in commodity trading, adding that Nigeria is working on its budget and would soon attain the 10% Maputo Declaration.
