The Nigerian Governors’ Forum has paid a condolence visit to Plateau State counterpart, following recent attacks in the State that left tens of persons killed.
Led by the Forum’s Chairman and Governor of Kwara State, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the delegation called for stronger collaboration and intelligence sharing to combat insecurity in the Plateau and other troubled parts of the country.
The Governors of Borno, Benue, Bauchi, Oyo, and the Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State joined in the visit.
Their mission was to stand in solidarity with one of their own, Governor Caleb Mutfwang and the people of Plateau State, who have been reeling from series of deadly terrorists attacks in recent weeks.
Governor Abdulrazaq acknowledged the efforts of both the State and Federal governments, but emphasized the need for more collaboration, and timely intelligence sharing to prevent future attacks.
In response, Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang expressed gratitude for the visit, describing it as a sign of national unity and a boost to the morale of Plateau residents.
Prayers were also offered for the victims of the attacks and for divine intervention to restore peace across the country. The visit by the delegation of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum underscores growing concerns over insecurity in Nigeria, and the collective call for unity in addressing the nation’s security challenges.
