Nigeria has the capacity of solving the challenge of insecurity currently facing the country if traditional leaders are given the necessary backing needed to function properly.

Chief Executive Officer, Connected Development, Hamzat Lawal said this at the Silver Jubilee anniversary of His Royal Majesty Ado Ibrahim as he turns twenty five years as the Ohinoye of Ebiraland in Okene Kogi State.

The traditional institution is believed to be the oldest form of leadership and a huge contributor to the socio- political, economic, and harmonious well-being of Nigeria before independence.

With Nigeria currently faced with numerous challenges in various areas of the nation’s life, CEO of connected development, Hamzat Lawal said, Nigeria can regain it’s lost glory by recognizing traditional leaders as pillars of democracy

The social crusader hinted that crimes and criminality can be eradicated with the government’s deliberate involvement of traditional leaders in championing community policing.

While some guests want traditional leaders to live above board in the discharge of their duties, the government was advised to give legal backings to their agitation.
