Nigeria Insecurity: South South People Call On FG To Increase Funding For Security Agencies

The people of south-south Nigeria resident in the FCT want President Bola Tinubu to increase funding for security agencies to enable them to effectively and efficiently tackle the worsening insecurity in the country including the Federal Capital Territory.

The Chairman, South-South community FCT chapter, Dickson Omaeigie, who made the appeal during a meeting of the group over the weekend in Abuja said government needed to show more commitment to efforts directed at tackling the menace to accelerate socio-economic development of the country.

Insecurity across Nigeria has become more worrisome in the past couple of years with both the government and the citizens doing everything possible to ensure that lives and property are better secured.

The south-south Community in the FCT said the increasing incidences of Banditry, kidnapping and killing of innocent Nigerians is unacceptable hence the need for urgent government intervention to tackle the challenges with a view to quickening the socio-economic development of Nigeria.

Other speakers expressed concerns over the state of the Nation’s economy which they said also needed a turnaround.

The South South community in the FCT expressed confidence that Nigeria will be great again and appealed for support for President Bola Tinubu to enable him deliver on his renewed hope agenda.
