Nigeria has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL), on Privileges and Immunity for INTERPOL in Nigeria.
Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammad Dingyadi who signed the agreement on behalf of the Nigerian government at the ongoing 90TH INTERPOL GENERAL ASSEMBLY in New Delhi on Thursday said the development will enhance the operations of INTERPOL in Nigeria by reducing transnational border crimes and assist in the importation of modern technology for both military and paramilitary agencies in the country.

The Nigerian delegation who witnessed the signing of the agreement include, Inspector General of Police Alkali Baba, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa, Comptroller-general of the Nigeria Immigration Service Isa Jere Idris and the Vice president of the INTERPOL, Assistant Inspector-General of Police Garba Umar .
