Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has expressed confidence in the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, stating that Nigeria remains in capable hands amid ongoing economic reforms and infrastructural development.
The Governor highlighted visible progress in the country’s economy and key projects, including the coastal road initiative, noting that these strides reflect the administration’s commitment to national growth under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Declaring the meeting of the Southern Traditional Rulers Council open in Port Harcourt, the Governor, while acknowledging existing challenges, called on Nigerians to sustain their support for President Tinubu, emphasising the need for continuity to consolidate gains and drive inclusive development across the country.
Traditional rulers from across Southern Nigeria are in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, for a high-level meeting aimed at strengthening unity, promoting peace, and advancing development across the region and country as a whole.
The meeting comes at a time when calls for regional cooperation and national unity continue to dominate discourse, with stakeholders emphasising the need for inclusive development and lasting peace.
The council is also expected to deliberate on strategies to enhance the role of traditional institutions in governance and to foster stronger partnerships with government at all levels.
Declaring the meeting open, Governor Fubara, notes that despite ethnic and cultural diversity, the Southern region remains united by a shared destiny within a single, indivisible Nigeria.
He stresses that collaboration among Southern states, as well as partnership with the Federal Government, would accelerate development and improve the living conditions of the people.
While commending the royal fathers for their continued support, advice, and contributions to governance, Governor Fubara expresses confidence in the leadership of President Tinubu.
Governor Fubara also uses the occasion to call on the members of the Southern Traditional Rulers Council to remain focused and committed to their roles in promoting unity, peace, and progress across Southern Nigeria.
