At the opening ceremony, the President, National Association of women Judges of Nigeria emphasized the significant role female jurists and attorneys play in the country’s justice system, irrespective of the challenges they face as women in the society.
The Keynote speaker, Justice Elfrieda Williams-Dawodu gave insight on how systemic barriers and biases were the persistent bane making women remain underrepresented.
The Guest of honour, Governor Douye Diri declared the two-day event open.
He said that he was a strong advocate of gender equality and that is why his administration implemented various initiatives to support women.
