Nigeria loses 12 more Covid-19 patients, records 1,544 new cases

In the last 24 hours, 12 people have died of Covid-19 related complications in Nigeria. The national death toll from the infection has now jumped to 1,342.

There are 1,544 new Covid-19 infections reported in 21 states across Nigeria in the last 24 hours with the total number of confirmed cases now 97,478.

The states with new Covid-19 cases include Lagos-739; Plateau-168; FCT-153; Oyo-91; Nasarawa-90; Rivers-80; Kaduna-35; Edo-33; Kano-29 and Ogun-21. Other states are Delta-19; Sokoto-16; Akwa Ibom and Ebonyi-11 each; Enugu and Osun-10 each; Niger-9; Bauchi and Kebbi-8 each; Katsina-2 and Taraba-1.

Meanwhile, 570 Covid-19 patients have been discharged across Nigeria in the last 24 hours including 264 in Lagos State and 147 in Plateau State who recovered from the infection following community-based management of their cases.
