Following the recent proclamation by President Muhammadu Buhari that Nigerians should go back to farm in order to avert Post Covid-19 food crisis, some experts under the umbrella of the Federation of Agricultural Commodity Association of Nigeria, FACAN have outlined different areas in the Agriculture sector in which the youth can embrace farming.
They say this will reduce the rate of social unrest, banditry and kidnapping ravaging the country due to unemployment but urged that Government must prioritise the sector and make it attractive for youth involvement.
They say therefore recommending investments in snail farming and fisheries among others as very lucrative business that require the low budget to start. They advise that government should do the needful and engage the youth as they are the future of Agriculture and economic development.

They say in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic, companies are laying off employees due to economic crunch and lack of funds for salaries, this has increased the number of Nigerian youth that are unemployed and hungry. They insist that food is one of the basic needs of life and the implications of its scarcity is unthinkable, therefore government must prevent it by all means, while engaging the youth to avoid famine and unrest after the pandemic is over.
