The Federal Government has been commended in its various Ports reforms that have reduced the perennial cases of non compliance of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
Director of Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN), Vivek Menon, made this known to journalists in Calabar during a two day capacity building on compliance function and leadership for port officials.

The International Anti-Corruption Maritime expert said Nigerian Ports now operate with integrity, saying there are currently severe consequences for offenders unlike in the past.
The Tchnical Unit of Governance and Anti Corruption Reforms (TUGAR), Jane Onwumere, said the training has become necessary considering the new lease of life in the sector.
Statistics from the workshop shows Increase in transparency and accountability in the port processes and improvement in inter-agency cooperation and coordination with 266 cases of non compliance in 2019 to 50 cases recorded in 2022.
