The Chairman/CEO of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa has called for full implementation of the content of the Nigeria – South Africa Bi-National Commission to improve early warning systems as well as enhance security and intelligence gathering.
Dabiri Erewa stated this at a high level meeting with the South African High Commissioner to Nigeria Thami Mseleku in Abuja on Monday.
The NIDCOM boss said there are no perceptions and mindsets between the governments of both countries; pointing out that the challenges were with the people to people relations which NIDCOM is ready to address in partnership with the South African High Commission.
In response, the South African High Commissioner to Nigeria Thami Mseleku explained that only a few bad eggs on both sides of the divide were sending out negative narratives which the government is working hard to curtail.

It will be recalled that the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the government of the Republic of South Africa in October 1999 established the Bi-National Commission (BNC) called Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission.
