Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, says his administration has put in place various welfare packages that would address the needs of citizens especially those affected by various forms of disasters.

This and other governance ssues which impact directly on the life of the citizenry, dominated his independence day anniversary broadcast, delivered at the Lugard House, Lokoja.

Kogi State is the only state in Nigeria that did not record a single incident of Covid-19 due to the proactive measures taken to prevent the spread of the virus in the state.

Despite the absence of the virus in the state, a partial lockdown was imposed, which impacted business negatively

At a statewide broadcast to mark Nigeria at 60, governor Yahaya Bello announced a post Covid-19 package for the people of the state.

Governor Bello also used the opportunity to announce packages for victims of flood disasters in parts of the state.

Another high point of the broadcast, apart from progress in infrastructure development, was the governor’s resolve to reform the civil service as he threatens legal action against saboteurs in the process.
