The Zonal Commander of NAQS, Dr Isah Adamu, briefed journalists after the disposal and said, “This intercept was done along Koko Road in Kebbi State, on its way to Lagos State.”

He added that the export of donkeys remained illegal, so Nigeria, as a signatory to the charter, protects domestic and wild animals.

As sister agencies, the Kebbi State Comptroller of Nigeria Customs Service, Husaini Bello, said that the Customs work hand in hand with the NAQS to secure exported donkey skins. “If we get something that is to be handed over to Customs, like this donkey skin, the Customs make arrests.”
