Nigerian Air Force to reduce reliance on foreign expatriates

The Nigerian Air force says its personnel will soon be trained on specialized courses locally in order to reduce the reliance on foreign expatriates.

Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Sadique Abubakar, who stated this in Kaduna at the graduation ceremony of 82 airmen and airwomen on intermediate and advanced communication and information system, said such indigenous training will build the capacity of her personnel.

Air Marshall Abubakar said the training on intermediate and advanced communication and information system for air personnel are crucial in boosting their capacity when transmitting messages without compromising the security of the information.

The Air Chief said the Nigerian Air Force is making plans to expand the scope and improve facilities at the Air Force Institute of Technology, Kaduna to train personnel locally.

The 82 airmen and air women who graduated from the training are expected to be deployed to support the ongoing air force operations.
