Nigerian Army Launches Manual On Nuclear Warfare To Stamp Out Terrorism

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has launched the manual on Nuclear Warfare aimed at stamping out terrorism in Nigeria. 

 The manual that will be available for army training schools will also encompass Chemical, Biological and Radiological military actions.

Oluyede, while launching the manual at the opening of the 2025 Doctrine and Training Conference organized by the Training and Doctrine Command, TRADOC, Nigerian Army, Minna, assured Nigerians that the military under his watch will prioritise equipment upgrade and boost manpower to match emerging security challenges facing the nation.     

The 2025 Doctrine and Training Conference has as its theme “Understanding Nigerian Army Doctrine for effective training within a joint environment”.

Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede said the current threats of emerging terror groups have made it imperative to intensify its training and eliminate this menace. 

The Chief of Army staff assured Nigerian troops of adequate welfare to make them more alert and motivated. 

The TRADOC Commander, Major General Kevin Aligbe,  announced the installation of 20 multi-media platforms for real-time training in 19 schools with control in TRADOC.

He further emphasised the need for the Nigerian Army to continue operating largely as part of a joint task force or multi-agency outfit while retaining its preparedness to do the same under a multinational force within a regional or global arrangement.   

He said this task has necessitated the need to have well-trained and mission-capable troops.
