The Nigerian Army says it is imperative to train its Senior Non-Commissioned Officers, SNCOs, for administrative efficiency, to bridge the leadership gap between them and young soldiers, in the conduct of its operations.
Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, said this at the opening of a Leadership Awareness and Development Course Six 2023, for Senior Non-Commissioned Officers of the One Division Area Of Responsibility.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, whose message to the SNCOs was delivered by the General Officer Commanding One Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Taoreed Lagbaja, charged the SNCOs, to take advantage of the course, which was packaged with contemporary modules, to enhance their leadership efficiency.

The Army Chief noted that as leaders, the SNCOs must develop their ability to think fast, and exercise command that would enable them to adapt and confront evolving security challenges facing the nation.
The Leadership Awareness and Development Course was organised by the Nigerian Army Headquarters Department of Training, and the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, for SNCOs in the One Division Area of Responsibility, to enhance their creativity in critical thinking, during military operations.
