Lagos State resident Nigerian lawyer cum artist Oyinlola Adeyinka Odumewu, aiming to also become the Guinness World Record holder for the longest painting time by an individual has surpassed her initial set target of 72 hours.


Popularly known as’ Lola Mewu’ Oyinlola, who began her quest on Saturday, October 28th, 2023, at a location on Victoria Island, reached the 72-hour mark by 7 pm on Tuesday, October 31, 2023.
She, however, extended her painting challenge to 82 hours, a feat she achieved by 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 1st, 2023.
The record, until Lola Mewu’s achievement was held by 70-year-old Belgian painter Roland Palmaerts who has held the Guinness World Records title for 10 years; following a marathon painting challenge of 60 Hours.
Palmaerts, in October 2013, was certified as the Guinness World Record holder for the longest painting time by an individual following a marathon painting exercise from October 3-5 2013 in Arches, France.
