Former Super Eagles and manager of FK Tirana in Albania, Emmanuel Ndubuisi Ebgo has made history becoming the first African coach to qualify a team for the UEFA Champions League.
Egbo led FK Tirana to their 25th Albanian top flight league title over the weekend after they defeated Flamutari 2-nil earning his side a spot in the UEFA Champions League first qualifying round.
He was appointed manager of Tirana in December 2019 when the club was 8th on the table following the resignation of Julian Ahmtaj.
Egbo who played as a goalkeeper during his professional career from 1993 to 2011 doned the colours of Tirana between 2001 and 2004 where he made 157 apperances lifting the trophy 3 times.
The 46-year old was first appointed goalkeeper trainer in 2014 and was made caretaker manager in October 2015 following the sack of Shkëlqim Muça.

The former Juliius Berger shot stopper made 12 apperances for the Super Eagles scoring once in his 3-year stint with the national team.
Egbo began his professional career with Nitel Vasco in 1993. He also played for NEPA and Julius Berger before moving to the Egyptian league where he spent 3 years with El Masry.
He had a short spell with Moroka Swallows of South Africa before joining Tirana in 2001. He returned to El Masry in 2004 and later moved to Bylisin in 2007 where he spent 4 years before he hanging his gloves.
