The Nigerian Customs Service has accused unpatriotic Nigerians of illegally supplying petroleum products to terrorists in their hideouts and thereby worsening insecurity in the country.
The National Coordinator of Operation Whirlwind, Hetchkay Ejibunu who made this accusation at a press conference in Yola, Adamawa State disclosed that the service has confiscated smuggled premium motor spirit PMS with aggregate duty paid value of about Sixty Four Million Naira in the state.
The assistant Comptroller of Customs disclosed that smugglers take advantage of Adamawa and Taraba being border states, from where they smuggle the products to neighbouring Cameroon, Niger and Benin republics among others

Ejibunu however vowed that the Nigerian Customs Service will not rest on its oars in tackling smuggling.
In an opening remark during the event, the controller customs for Adamawa and Taraba area command, Garba Bature urged the public to provide the customs Service the needed information to succeed in its operations
