Nigerian Governors have apologized to victims and families of the Abuja- Kaduna train attack on Monday saying the unwarranted murderous act has put to question the collective ability of Nigerian leaders to govern.

Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, Kayode Fayemi in a statement issued on Wednesday described the attack as a horror dream orchestrated by the wicked merchants of death that need the immediate attention of all with a view to addressing the spate of devilish acts.

The Nigerian Governors’ Forum says the cowards behind the act will certainly not take over the country.

NGF says their violent demeanor will not result in anything positive rather, it will confine them to an uncomfortable life in the jungle until the long arm of the law catches up with them.

The Governors called on authorities to immediately install all necessary safeguards to forestall future acts of banditry on our rail tracks, roads, ports and borders noting that these infrastructure constitute a major backbone to Nigeria’s National asset.

The State Governors say there is need to improve on security intelligence and ability to act on intelligence gathered in order to give comfort to citizens, residents and investors that the security of lives and property cannot be taken for granted.
