In a bid to address the worsening insecurity in Adamawa State, the Nigerian military has announced plans to establish a new military sector command in Mubi.

The development was revealed by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, during a courtesy visit to Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa state, where he addressed troops to remain resilient in fighting crimes

General Christopher Musa who was accompanied on the one day working visit said that the move is part of the military’s strategic expansion plan to combat growing threats from non-state actors, stressing that the existing military barracks in Mubi would be rehabilitated and upgraded to support the operations of the new command.

He assured that the Nigerian Air Force would also be reinforced to provide rapid response capabilities with a view to denying any operational space for insurgents.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri welcomed the military’s decision, describing it as a timely intervention that would enhance the state’s security architecture.

From the government house, the train of the Chief of Defence staff proceeded to 23 armoured brigade Yola.

While at the military cantonment, General Christopher Musa addressed officers and troops whom he commended for living up to expectations but encouraged them to redouble zeal on counter insurgency.
