The Nigerian Navy has assured parents and guardians of providing adequate welfare and security for students and pupils using their educational facilities across the country.
The Chief of the Naval Staff, CNS, Vice Admiral Zubairu Gambo, gave the assurance in Calabar, during the commissioning of some facilities at the Naval Officers Wives Association (NOWA) Secondary School, Atimbo.

He says, security and the welfare of the students, along with the quality academic environment is their priority.
Represented by the Commandant Eastern Fleets, Rear Admiral Perry Onwuzulike, the CNS said, parents and other stakeholders in the educational sector, will always be allowed to contribute to the development of Naval Education and its intellectual endowments across the country.
The outgoing NOWA President, Theresa Ibas, and the Chairman of the Parent Teachers Association (PTA), Clement Umina, said the hostel accommodation and the school hall, will solve some of the welfare challenges their children face daily in the school.
Located within the Atimbo barracks, the secondary school was established about six years ago, to boost the efforts of the Nigerian Navy to expand access to affordable and qualitative education, for children of personnel in the barracks and civil population outside the barracks.
