Two goals were all Plateau United needed to lift the spirits of football fans at the Zaria Road Stadium in Jos as it subdued Barau United in their Nigerian Professional Football League clash on Sunday.
For Plateau United, which had gone two matches without a win, it was a must-win fixture to boost their position on the league table.
Fans at the stadium were initially unimpressed by the team’s first-half performance, which left many anxious and on edge.

But the second half saw a reinvigorated Plateau United side, as they broke the deadlock with a well-taken goal.
Then , a moment of brilliance from Vincent Temitope sent the entire stadium into wild celebration.
Head coach of Plateau United, Shola Adegun said the victory would inspire more consistent performances, while Ladan Bosso of Barau United attributed his team’s loss to a lapse in concentration in the second half.
