A 300-Level student in the department of Software Engineering at Veritas University, Daniel Inalu has defeated over 500 students from across Africa at a digital innovation summit in Nairobi, Kenya, qualifies for selection by the African Telecommunication Union to attend this year’s G20 Digital Innovation Alliance Summit in Cape Town, South Africa.
In a letter to Inalu, the secretary General of the African Telecommunications Union, John Omo said he emerged based on a rigourous process that examined software solutions from over 500 other entrants.
He said inaju’s solution, FIMI Framework, a secure PHP toolkit that accelerates web development while embedding advanced security features has been selected as one of Africa Telecommunication union’s nominees in the secured digital Infrastructure category for the G20 Digital Innovation alliance Summit and Digital Innovation Challenge, which will take place in Cape Town, South Africa.
It will be recalled that the Software Engineering students of Veritas University won the third edition of the ATU Innovation Challenge held in Nairobi, Kenya in 2024 and inalu is winning the fourth edition.

In a reaction to the development, Veritas University Vice Chancellor Reverend Father Professor Hyacinth Ichoku said Daniel Inalu’s nomination was a ‘loud testimony of the wonderful things Nigerian private universities are doing, adding that It is a further confirmation that the laurels so far won by his university are not fluke.
A statement by head of communication, Ben Agande said the head of Department of Software engineering, Emmanuel Mkpojuogu describes Daniel inalu’s achievement as a huge contribution to Africa’s digital transformation agenda.
