Some Nigerians residing in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, say the action of the majority members of the National Assembly, who voted against the electronic transmission of election results, have denied the nation the opportunity to rid the electoral process of fraud and restore the confidence of the masses.
Speaking to ait. live, they said that such action by the legislators, further showed that, they regard personal interest above the interest of the masses who voted them into power.
One area that received backlash from the citizens, was the non-inclusion of E-Transmission of the election results, which made Some respondents describe the lawmakers’ action as unfortunate, scolding both parliaments for turning deaf ears to the yearnings of the people.

Both the Senate and House of Representatives had last week passed the much-awaited Electoral Amendment bill, to give way for more flexibility in the country’s future elections, excluding the electronic transmission of results.
