The wave of impeachment seems to have blown down to the shores of Nigeria, since it happened for the third time in United States history yesterday, Wednesday December 18th 2019.

Reacting to the impeachment of President Donald Trump by the United States House of Representatives, Nigerians are using the social media, particularly twitter to ask their National Assembly members to impeach President Buhari.

The Twitter users are via their tweets, alleging that President Buhari abused his Office and abused the Constitution and hence should be impeached.

Some others are asking who would dare impeach the President in Nigeria.

According to some of the Twitter users;

@chosensomto: “Buhari’s COAS is the longest serving since the activities of Boko haram; though under his regime BH are controlling LGA’s.

Same with Chief of Air Staff; though he “mistakenly” bombed Nigerians in 2017. SP Lawan said his wishes are commands. Is it Tanko? 😂

Audio #Impeachbuhari”

@kikelomosowore: “Disobedience to court orders is the highest abuse of power. If we #ImpeachBuhari for this, it’s simply bringing sanity to our democratic space.”

@TopeAkinyode: “Last week, US lawmakers offered to help Nigeria’s failing democracy. Our presidency called their bluff. Today, US lawmakers have proven actions speak louder than words. They’re defending their own democracy religiously. Nigeria needs to learn. #ImpeachBuhari”.

It will be recalled that the United States House of Representatives voted on Wednesday, December 18th 2019, to impeach President Donald Trump.
