President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has acknowledged the struggles Nigerians are facing due to economic reforms of the President Bola Tinubu administration.

In his welcome address to Senators after the annual recess, Akpabio expressed sympathy for the harsh realities citizens are grappling with, including inflation, high cost of living, unpredictable markets, and economic sabotage.

Akpabio assured Nigerians that the upper chamber is committed to addressing these economic challenges.

He emphasised that the National Assembly understands the difficulties caused by the reforms, which aim to reposition the economy and improve the country’s overall situation.

The President of the Senate stressed that tackling insecurity is a priority for the National Assembly emphasising that ensuring the safety of people’s lives and properties is crucial, and lawmakers will work tirelessly to craft laws and take decisive actions to protect communities.

Akpabio reiterated that the agricultural initiatives of the current administration are beginning to bear fruits, and the strides made in infrastructure development are paving the way for a brighter future.

He assured that the parliament will work with the Executive arm of government to ensure that the dividends of democracy and good governance are not mere ideals, but tangible realities that every Nigerian can experience.
