wonder

Call it the eighth or ninth wonder of the world and you will not be wrong or how do you comprehend the excellent reading ability of the 2-year old Nigerian child.

Jochebed Dickson also knows a lot about things that even most adults do not have an idea. She is obviously a rare phenomenon not only in this part of the world but globally

The birth of a child comes with joy to many and then the worry of training same into an intelligent individual begins. A long time ago, most boys were taught their fathers’ trade while girls stayed at home with their mothers to learn about housekeeping especially learning how to cook.

Overtime, formal education was gradually introduced and today, almost every child is going through one form of education or the other.

Dickson is only two years old but there is something spectacular about this child. Her parents took note of her intellectual capacity when she was only seven months old.

Most parents leave the formal learning for their wards to schools and private tutors, but Dickson’s parents have decided to do the tutoring themselves.

Gifted children like Dickson are believed to have a span of concentration and memory that is long and needs all the guidance just like every other child. This much, a child psychologist, Charity Abubakar, agrees with while speaking to ait.live.

Finding quality education is a challenge most parents face when their children grow to school age, the family being a central institution and the cornerstone of the society according to Dickson’s family, must not leave learning to the formal school structure alone.

Dickson also needs all the opportunities available to be able to sustain and maintain her high I.Q. while also enjoying a happy childhood. It is not too much to hope that she can make the Guinness Book of World Records as there is no established record of a 2-year old child with such reading abilities in Nigeria.
