Nigeria’s professional footballer Francisca Ordega has launched a football clinic aimed at identifying and nurturing local talent in Benue State.
The Francisca Ordega Foundation Football Clinic, held at the McCarthy Stadium featured top-notch coaching and technical sessions led by Ordega and some of her international teammates, including Ashley Plumptre.
Fransica Ordega’s foundation, in collaboration with the Al-Ittihad Saudi Arabia Football club, aims at empowering local players between 14-18 years as well as local coaches.
Obviously a delight for most of the over a hundred participants who promised to make the most of the rare opportunity.
For the Benue-born football sensation Ordega and her international partners, it is their way of giving back to society by promoting female football and providing young girls with opportunities to develop their skills, one she never really had.
The 2 day football clinic ended with the charity academy football club defeating the invincible angels FC by one goal to nil to emerge champions.
