The Nigerian Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has urged all Police legal officers to remain vigilant in safeguarding citizens’ rights and ensuring due process in all aspects of policing activities.
The Police Chief also emphasized the importance of collaboration between legal advisors and operational units to achieve effectiveness while respecting human rights and the rule of law.
IGP gave the operational guidelines during a meeting with the legal officers of the Nigeria Police Force on Thursday at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
IGP Egbetokun said it is in line with his administration’s policy to bequeath to Nigerians a Police Force which is rule of law compliant, and underscored the paramount importance of service delivery and upholding the rule of law within the Nigeria Police Force.
