The Governing Council of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has dissolved the Executive Committee of Public Relations Consultants Association of Nigeria (PRCAN), led by Israel Jaiye Opayemi.
The council, during its 117th meeting, had a comprehensive review of PRCAN’s operations and took the decision to dissolve the leadership, citing as major reasons, issues of tenure elongation, declining performance, and the need to revitalize and reposition the association to align with NIPR’s strategic objectives.
The NIPR then appointed Nkechi Ali-Balogun, a Fellow and Founder/CEO, NECCI Consults, as Chairman, Council Committee on Revitalization of PRCAN with a mandate to oversee the activities of PRCAN and conduct free and fair election not later than 30th April 2025.

NIPR appreciated the immediate past president of PRCAN, Israel Opayemi, and requested his cooperation to ensure a seamless transition that is critical in the revitalization of the association.
PRCAN, which was established under the NIPR Bye-law No. 3 of 1993, titled “NIPR PR Consultancy Practice” is responsible for coordinating and managing the activities of public relations consultants across Nigeria under the supervision of the NIPR Council.
