The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, says it condemns the killing of over 20 travelers in Jos, Plateau State, who were commuting between Bauchi and Akure in Ondo State.

A statement by NLC President, Ayuba Wabba, says the incident further highlights the deteriorating security situation in the country with no gainsaying the fact that Nigerians are really living in dangerous times.

The NLC said whatever is the motivation for the barbaric and atrocious killing of innocent travellers is totally unacceptable and condemnable, stressing that it is another jolt that Nigerians are steadily losing their humanity.

The NLC urged the security forces to quickly fish out the perpetrators of the crime and ensure their diligent prosecution in courts while calling for increased security surveillance and patrol on the various highways.

The labour congress commiserated with the families of the victims of what it calls heinous crime and prays for the repose of the departed souls.
