The Nigeria Labour Congress NLC, is seeking justice and due compensation for a former worker of the Ministry of Steel Development, one Victor Ekpaha.
The labour union led members to picket the offices of the ministry in Abuja, demanding that the ministry should obey court orders and pay Victor Ekpaha his entitlements.
While at the ministry’s entrance, security operatives shut the gates to keep out the protesters and at the same time, the protesters used padlocks on the gates from outside.
it became ‘a no entrance, no exit situation.

The man in the eye of the storm, Victor Ekpaha, narrates his ordeal, just as the permanent secretary at the Ministry of Steel Development, Chris Isokpunwu intervenes, calling for a private meeting with the protesting workers.
According to the permanent secretary, Mr Ekpaha had voluntarily resigned before seeking reinstatement and compensation
