The Nigeria Labour Congress, Abia State Council, has suspended its fourteen-day strike action to protest the non-payment of salaries by the state government.
In a Press Release signed by the Secretary of the union in the state, Emma Alozie, the State Executive Council in Session, noted the intervention efforts of well-meaning Nigerians, and the progress made so far, through the strike action.

According to the secretary, the council also deliberated on the promises of Governor-elect Alex Otti, on the contending issues that led to the strike action.
The union directed all Abia workers to resume all services hitherto withdrawn, with immediate effect.
