A fuel supply and distribution disruption has been reported in parts of Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja leaving motorists and residents stranded.
According to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company, NNPC Limited the shortage is due to a technical issue with the discharge operations of a few vessels.
In a statement released on Saturday, NNPC Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, assured the public that the company is working tirelessly with stakeholders to resolve the situation and restore normal operations.
NNPC acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the fuel supply tightness and assured that it is taking necessary steps to address the issue promptly.
AIT.live reports that although the exact duration of the disruption is unknown, the swift response by NNPC is expected to mitigate the impact on fuel availability in the affected areas.
The company advised motorists and residents to remain calm and patient as the situation is being addressed.
