The Group Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian National Petroleum Company NNPC Ltd, Bayo Ojulari, has called for a just energy transition that must be negotiated and not imposed by the outside world.
Ojulari who delivered a keynote address virtually at the opening of Society of Petroleum Engineers International Oil and Gas conference in Lagos on Monday said only a just energy transition can guarantee stability within the global energy landscape.
Ojulari who called on critical stakeholders to push for collaboration in advancing growth in the Nigerian oil and gas sector space said NNPCL remains committed to pushing for a more robust sector that would not only advance development across board but make it sustainable.

The Group Chief Executive Officer said the country must invest in manpower to ensure continuity in the energy sector, acknowledging that there are critical challenges that currently pose great risk to the sector.
He however noted that such risks are summountable through robust policy approach .
The keynote address by the NNPC Group Chief Executive Officer is coming amid heightened speculations that he may have resigned from his position following what unconfirmed report said might be connected to pushback from certain interest groups who are not comfortable with ongoing reforms by the new Group Chief Executive Officer.
