The chief medical director, CMD of the university of port Harcourt Teaching Hospital UPTH Professor Henry Ugboma says there is need for servicom in all federal agencies to be strengthened and to provide resource allocations for efficient service delivery especially in the health sector.

The representative of the chief medical director UPTH Dotonye Alasia stated this during the servicom first quarter ministerial programme in port Harcourt.

Servicom was established as a presidential initiative that pledges to render quick and satisfactory service delivery in all government agencies to all Nigerians, premised on the imperative to give orientation to Nigerians to demand impeccable service as their right.

The role of servicom in the health sector in terms of service delivery cannot be overemphasized. This gathering here, is an opportunity for servicom staff to brainstorm and come up with resolutions and ideas to improve service delivery.

The chief medical director of the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital UPTH represented by the chairman medical advisory committee Prof Datonye Alasia says servicom plays a vital role in government establishment especially in the health sector where they interface with patients and care givers, hence the need to strengthen their capacity for effective service delivery.

Servicom has come a long way and one of its major aims is to guarantee patients’ satisfaction and accessibility to health care as well as minimizing the gaps in service delivery.

It is hoped that with this programme, the servicom department will improve its operations across board especially in the health sector.
