Chief of Defence Staff, Christopher Musa has charged troops fighting insurgents across the country to take the fight to them, saying doing so will put the troops ahead of the terrorists.

According to the defence chief, the activities of the insurgents have caused great setback to the nation and it is high time they stopped their work.

He made this remark at Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State when he visited troops stationed in the area.

General Musa noted that in 2024, the military achieved an appreciable level of success and in 2025 more efforts must be put in to ensure the fight is finished once and for all.

General Musa appreciated the soldiers for their high level of professionalism exhibited during operations but warned against any form of misconduct saying it will be met with severe sanctions.

The defense chief also inspected weapons recovered during the operation in the area, where he admired the skills of illegal weapons manufacturers and hoped some of them could be turned around positively.

He said the Nigerian government will not jeopardise the safety of citizens and will continue to fight acts of terrorism.
