The Lagos State Government has said that it is not ready yet for the re-opening of places of worship in the state.
Speaking to newsmen during the one year stock taking of the Babajide Sanwo-Olu led administration in the state, the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Anofiu Elegushi said the possibility of re-opening Churches and Mosques in the state had been ruled out.
The commissioner puts the blame on the doorsteps of the religious leaders in the state, who he said have refused to take responsibility for ensuring full compliance of the COVID-19 guidelines during religious gathering, adding that it is up to the state to domesticate the Lockdown measures when it is visible.

The Lagos State Government’s position was coming a day after the Presidency gave a nod to the re-opening of religious gathering in the second face of easing COVID-19 inspired Lockdown in the country.
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu is expected to address the people of the state on the subject tomorrow, Wednesday the 3rd of June.
