Normalcy returns to Lokoja after Monday’s pandemonium

Normalcy has returned to Lokoja, the Kogi state capital, after Monday’s tension that greeted the capital following the invasion of two warehouses by hoodlums which created pandemonium in the state capital.

The State Commissioner of Police, Ede Ayuba, who spoke to ait.live in Lokoja, said the combined efforts of security agencies helped a great deal in have returned the state capital to the calmness it enjoys.

The State Security Adviser to the Governor, Jerry Omodara, who in the company of the Police, launched a search operation for recovery of medical and agricultural items looted from the warehouse on Monday, said no stone would be left unturned in their resolve to recover the stolen items.

State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kinsley Fanwo, while leading some government functionaries to visit some injured victims hit by stray bullets in some hospitals, assured the victims that the government will not abandon them.

Sun Newspaper correspondent, Emmanuel Adeyemi, a victim of a stray bullet, and some other residents receiving attention in undisclosed medical facilities in Lokoja, appealed to the state government to make do its promise to assist them to pick their medical bills in good time.

At the time of this report, some suspects who looted medical equipment from the state medical warehouse and agricultural imputes, have been arrested and are making useful confessional statements to the police.
