North West Sports Directors zonal meeting now to hold via Zoom

The North West Sports Directors zonal meeting earlier scheduled for July 27 in Kaduna will now hold via Zoom due to the prevailing Coronavirus pandemic.

The meeting earlier convened by the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, North West Zone, is to brainstorm on ways toward sports development in the zone.

According to a statement signed by the Zonal Coordinator North-West Zone, Idris Abdullahi, the meeting which was billed to take place at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium at 10 am, has been rescheduled for Zoom in adherence to the Federal Government’s COVID-19 protocols.

The statement further informed that the meeting will commence via Zoom by 3pm same day.

The cardinal aims and objectives of the meeting amongst others are to review sporting/related activities at states and the zonal level for the year 2019.

The statement further informed that it would feature presentation of zonal sports/related calendar for the 3rd and 4th quota of the year 2020, and will also deliberate on the ratification of the calendar of events.

The statement said that a communique will be issued at the end of the meeting.

The North West zone comprises Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara States.
