Northern Nigerian pressure groups say no 2023 support for clueless candidates

Some pressure groups under the aegis of the Arewa Joint Committee say they will not support candidates with no vision or plans for the development of the Northern Nigeria in the 2023 general elections.

At a news conference in Kaduna the committee said it will assess candidates to ascertain their capacities to address all the socioeconomic challenges confronting the country.

It said it supports calls for a change in both the structure and system of governance in Nigeria which it described as key to fast tracking national growth.
The Arewa Joint Committee comprises six notable northern groups including the Northern Elders Forum, Arewa Consultative Forum, Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation and the Matan Arewa.
